All our kits are hand cut from cnc cut templates and have our simple plank scarfing (joining) method except in the 2 piece canoes which are supplied with centre bulkheads.

Peasemarsh 8

The Peasemarsh 8 is an easy to build canoe at 7' - 7" (2.31m) long and 2' - 2" wide at it's widest point which will take a paddler weighing up to 11st (70kg). It takes around 20hrs to build from the full kit. What makes this an easy build is that the individual hull panels are supplied in one piece so you could have the hull stitched together and the first stage of the gluing done on the same day you receive it. Once on the water it's a great little fun canoe.

All hull panels CNC cut with stitch holes drilled including bulkheads and decks, wooden trim, deck supports and drain plugs (holes drilled). Epoxy pack with resin, hardener, dispenser pumps, fillet additive, cable ties, fibreglass tape, gloves, mixing sticks and pots. Another easy to build canoe which will take a solo adult paddler weighing up to 16st (101kg). It takes around 25hrs to build from the full kit and you can have the hull stitched together on the same day you receive it. There is an option to build it in two sections that bolt together.

Optional extras could include bulkhead hatches instead of drain pugs, add a paddle, seats etc.

Delivered in three (3) packs, everything you need to build the hull to a stage where the hull is ready for preparation for paint and varnish.

Pack 1. Wood & Plywood plank pack The plank sections with stitch holes drilled ready for assembly and the wood for trim and deck supports.

All our Stitch & Tape canoes can be assembled this way or the centre joint scarfed (edge glued and epoxy taped). Our dinghies too with a transom(s) stitched in instead of drawing the ends in.

The Dengemarsh canoe is based on the Peasemarsh but with an extra plank. An open “Canadian” style canoe along the lines of the Peasemarsh design but with an additional plank each side which givess for a slightly rounder hull. There is optional buoyancy fore and aft using the bulkheads and enclosed with a flush fitting deck, both supplied. It goes together easily and quite quickly and once completed, looks good and gives good performance on the water. Designed to be paddled with 1 adult or 2 children while kneeling but a seat(s) could be fitted.

It goes together easily and quite quickly. Once completed, it looks good and performs well on the water too. I love the lines of this canoe.

Designed for me to go canoeing with my eldest two in their Peasemarsh 10's. Although I could have used my old Peasemarsh 16 that would normally carry me, my wife and the two youngest, I wanted something different just for me so, I designed the New Bay 11 having liked the performance of the 15 previously during trials. The 11 did not disappoint. It was easy to build and performed as I wanted. This is actually my favourite canoe.

Designed for customer who wanted a smaller version of the New Bay 15. Following the ilnes of the New Bay 11 and increasing the overall size. It turned out to be a great canoe and was produced as a kit and complete build. It is popular as DIY plans too.

Based on our Burmarsh and Peasemarsh designs the New Bay Open Canoe has been interesting to design and a joy to test.
It is available as A3 and Full Size Plans package that will detail how to build it as a paddling canoe and adding the sail rig. Plus, details for building it in two halves to allow it to be built in smaller workshops and for easier transportation.
As much at home being paddled as sailing we have found this to be a fun, capable canoe for one or two people to enjoy.
It can be built to paddle first and the rig added later or can be built as the full sailing canoe and, as the rig is de-mountable, you can use it as the mood takes you on the day.
The plans include both the paddling and basic sailing versions.
