Apprx. Dry Weight 39kgs (85lbs) Rowing Version
These plans are for the "WINCHELSEA 10". The pictures above show two great examples from first time builders. A very similar looking larger version of her 8’ sister, continuing with the clinker style hull, 6 planks per side, multi-purpose Rowing/Motor or Sailing dinghy that can be used as a tender to a yacht or larger vessel or for a day of fun on the local water. She is 10’ - 0" in length, 4’ - 6" beam and designed to be as light as possible for her size and construction. Although she could be carried on the roof rack of a large car, she is far more suited to a small trailer. She will also take a small lightweight outboard 2hp - 3.5hp for motoring up and down the local river, canal, harbour or around the local lake. Electric outboards are an option with this boat too.
Custom Built Ready for the Water – Was £1675 - Now £1425 for standard build
The standard built boat is built in a quality marine plywood, trim and seats are fitted with bottom runners to complete the build. The hull is then finished - one colour outside, white or varnished inside with varnished wood trim and seats. Black nylon rowlocks, basic wooden oars, a 5m mooring rope fitted and it's ready to launch. If you prefer, these boats can be built to order which gives you an opportunity to decide on a colour and make any other changes you might want. Depending on those changes, your boat could be ready in 21 - 32 days from receipt of payment. We build your boat to your specification on our standard hull build adding or omitting items as you want it.
Custom Built Boats are Collection Only
These lightweight dinghies are easily driven and do not require a lot of power to drive them. A 2hp or 2.5hp petrol outboard is the maximum power size engine for this dinghy.
